A little more about him. Bob Friedhoffer (a.k.a. The Madman of Magic) is an author, scientist and magician. Bob earned his BBA in accounting from the University of Miami in Florida in 1970 and worked as an accountant for several years before going into magic full-time. He went on to earn his M.A. in the history and philosophy of science from the City University of NY in 1993.
During 1974 to 1990, Bob was a full time professional magician and author. He has performed in practically every imaginable venue from The White House (for the Carter Administration) to The Magic Castle.
Currently, Bob is touring around the United States with his Science shows. Combining showmanship with science, Bob often played to packed houses. Using humour, stagecraft and lighting, along with laboratory experiments disguised as magical illusion, Bob offered a perspective of science that many of audience had never seen before. Bob bring science information and education to the public using unique, innovative forms of exposition that astounded, mystified, and entertained. In fact, he would be at the Singapore Science Centre and Marina Square performing for the school pupils and public during this September school holidays. In addition to his performances, Bob is the author of more than 25 books for children about science and magic. He has also designed five magic/science sets. Bob is also an accomplished slight-of-hand performer as evident from his various contributions to magic periodicals like Apocalypse, Skeptic and Genii. |
