A common phrase used by impressed laymen to a good magician is a sheepish "I will never play cards with you".

How does one be be proficient enough in card magic to be credited with such awestruck respect? In essence, a tall building requires a strong foundation and a doctor needs  good knowledge about medicine. Thus, an entertaining magician needs to be able to perform his card routines well and without hesitation.

Australian Society of Magicians Inc. Centenary Convention on the 7-8-9th July 2007 Update

I am pleased to announce that the following top acts have agreed to perform and lecture at our convention.

Jeff McBride, Eugene Burger, Shawn Farqhuar, Gaetan Bloom, Shoot Ogawa and the inimitable Lennart Green. This has to be the biggest line-up of top magicians from all over the world to perform at an Australian Convention. Some of Australia’s top corporate magicians and illusionists will also be featured including Ray Crow, Ross Skiffington and Phil Cass just to mention a few. More local talent to be announced later.

Please visit our website at http://www.magicians.org.au for more information. The website will be updated on a continuous basis.

The registration costs for adults is AUS$280 and $140 for university students or juniors under 16years of age at time of registering. We have set-up Visa, MasterCard and PayPal facilities to make your payments. We ask Australian registrants to please pay by cheque as this will save the cost of bank processing on credit cards,

To help to ease the payment burden you can pay your registration over four payments.

Bonus for early bird registrants.
All those who register and pay $70.00 deposit by the 1st October 2006 will be eligible to go into a raffle. Five names will be drawn at the October ASM meeting and those five lucky people will have no further amount to pay - a saving of $210! This applies to all registrants including overseas visitors. This offer does not include the Banquet cost.
The balance to be paid in 3 equal payments of $70.00 due 1st Jan, 1st March, and 1st May. After 1st March registration will cost AUS$330 for adults and $190 for University students and juniors.
In recent conventions, the majority of registrations did not take place until approximately three months prior to the convention date. This makes it extremely difficult for the organizers to set the convention budget. By registering early, and knowing how much we have to spend, it enables us to give you better value for money and engage more talent.
We invite top class competitors from all over the world to compete in our close-up and stage competitions. Surely, the winners and place getters adding our prestigious award to their CV is a good enough reason to compete apart from the cash prizes..
Please send payments to Mr. Nick Morton 78 Alpine Way Kilsyth Victoria 3137 Australia
We look forward to meeting you all
