Seeing as the year 2006 is coming to a close, it'll be nice to have a simple TEA gathering and JAM session for anyone interested - just a nice way of saying goodbye to 2006 and 'hi' to 2007.
This'll be a free and easy 'party' for anyone interested in attending (food provided - but you got to pay your own. ';P).
I know it's quite last minute, but it'll be nice to catch up with old friends and old enemies; make new friends and antagonise new foes. ( )
VENUE: Toa Payoh Library - Delifrance There's this GREAT cozy place on the outside where we can gather and jam till we drop. Plus the great service and food makes this THE place to meet. Until they chase us out I suppose. But do be nice and at least buy a drink.
DATE: 31 Dec 2006 That's right - New Year's EVE! You can meet up and then head off to your favourite location to do the COUNTDOWN!
TIME: 2pm till any time you want
Programme: 2 - 3pm: Gathering and TEA! Have some pastries, chat and sip tea till your heart's content.
3 - 4pm: Session on Multiple Lifts - Seeing as how important these are to any card magic, it's weird how little time we spend understanding how Multiple lifts work - especially the DL. This session is dedicated to helping you (especially if you're a noob) get comfortable with any DL you currently employ or intend to use.
We'll cover: - principles in a multiple lift - types of multiple lifts - some methods of get ready - automatic lifts - natural action and establishment of moves - 'toying' and practice drills (how to practice) - demonstrations and personal sharing of various techniques (anyone is welcome to join in here - share your 2 cents - or more - worth!)
Ideally, at the end of this session, you WILL take home something valuable with you regarding Multiple Lifts that you WILL use.
4pm onwards: JAM and FUN
If you're interested in attending, do let us know early, add your name to the list in fine SMC tradition!
BTW - due to the space constraints of the location (I said it's cozy, not gargantum) we might need to limit the number of people turning up - haha who am I kidding - it'll be great if about 8 showed. |
